Yesterday I had a phone interview with Greenpeace. I applied for a Field Organizer position to fight global warming! The interview went very well in my opinion. The interviewer seemed excited and to agree with my responses to her questions. Now I have to wait for an email to set up a second phone interview.
This job seems very interesting to me. I would be organizing a group of volunteers to get congress to vote to fight global warming. I would initiate my own campaign strategy and implement it. I would be generating media coverage, holding learning and info sessions of global warming, and other specific duties. They have a intense training program, which I like because I do not have a ton of experience with global warming. It is very team oriented, which I have plenty of experience with!
Well I will update you when I know more about the position.
I do think global warming is a huge problem. Scientist predict that if we do not do something now all the polar ice caps will melt by 2040. And the United States produces 25% of the world's green house gases! We have the resources to fix it: Renewable energy, clean energy, and the ability to make cars more fuel efficient. It is a matter of getting congress to break their ties with car companies, oil companies, and all the other groups giving them money so that we can do something about it. Politicians are tied more to their constituents than they are to their party's beliefs. That is a huge problem with American politics.
Well I am done with my rant. I hope everyone is doing well!
